27. YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
I feel Yosemite is America’s preeminent landscape icon. My connections
with the glacially carved, granite landscape are profound. Sheer
granite walls, the great waterfalls of the Merced and Tuolumne Rivers
inspire me. So do Sierra juniper and Jeffrey pines on the prominent
granite domes.
