21. BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK
This is my all-time favorite place on the planet. Here, where the Rio
Grande makes its bend around the Chisos Mountains, is the spectacular
Chihuahuan Desert surrounding the Chisos’ forest of juniper, pinyon,
ponderosa and aspen. I like hiking up Emory Peak for claret cup cactus
blooms on top.
